New concept art: Amelia and Patrick

Hello readers! It’s a very short post from me this week, announcing a new addition to the “art” collection. In a break from tradition, this doodle contains not one but two characters, Amelia and Patrick. They’re from Highmoor, the first book in a high fantasy series that I’m currently writing, which is about to be released in paperback – in fact, I’m currently awaiting what I hope will be the final proofs. So, if you ever fancied reading Highmoor but didn’t have a Kindle, you will soon have your chance.

Amelia and Patrick are wizards. Specifically, they’re the offspring of Lord Franson and Lord Daeryn of Highmoor, respectively, who end up being captured and held for ransom by the despotic ruler of a neighbouring country (this isn’t a spoiler – it’s revealed on page one). Their kidnapping triggers an all-out conflict between the two nations, into which our main protagonists find themselves dragged. Amelia and Patrick are supporting characters, really, but as they are the unlucky catalysts of the plot, and the first people that we meet, I thought they were a logical addition to the character doodle collection.
